                                ORDINANCE NO. 9710
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, CHAPTER 24, SECTION 24-502, BY
                   DELETING THEREFROM CERTAIN PROVISIONS
                   RELATING TO RIVERFRONT PARKWAY AND RIVERSIDE
                   DRIVE AND ADOPTING NEW SPEED REGULATIONS
                   THEREFOR.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Part II, Chattanooga City
       Code, Chapter 24, Section 24-502 be and is hereby amended by
       deleting therefrom the following provisions:
                 Riverfront Parkway, 40 miles per hour from
                      Broad Street to Interstate 124 (East of
                      Superspun Avenue).  (Ord. No. 7425, A7 2,
                      9-12-78)

                 Riverside Drive, 50 miles per hour from
                      Amnicola Highway to 1200 feet east of
                      Broad Street.  (Ord. No. 6004, A7 2,
                      2-4-69; Ord. No. 6669, A7 1, 10-9-73)
                
                 Riverside Drive, 55 miles per hour from Citico
                      Creek to 1200 feet east of Broad Street. 
                      (Ord. No. 6642, A7 3, 7-24-73)
                
                 Riverside Drive, 40 miles per hour from 122
                      feet east of Broad Street to Broad
                      Street.  (Ord. No. 6841, A7 2, 1-21-75)
                
       and by substituting in lieu thereof the following:
                 Riverfront Parkway, 40 miles per hour from the
                      Olgiati Bridge to Highway 27 (East of
                      Superspun Avenue).

                 Riverside Drive, 50 miles per hour from
                      Amnicola Highway to the Walnut Street
                      Bridge.
                
                 Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway, 40 miles
                      per hour from the Walnut Street Bridge to
                      the Olgiati Bridge except when yellow
                      lights are flashing, at which time it
                      shall be 30 miles per hour.
                
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
       shall take effect immediately, the public peace, health and 
safety
       requiring it.
